Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a purchasing professional to execute strategic sourcing and supplier development. You will manage inventory quality, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and collaborate across teams to optimize the supply chain.

In this role, you will leverage MS Excel and ERP systems to analyze data, identify risks, and drive improvements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a global, employee-owned company focused on reliability and safety.

Formación

  • AA degree or equivalent in business/operations/supply chain.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Adhere to purchasing policies to ensure high quality, optimal inventory, timely delivery, and competitive costs.
  • Execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify risks to supply chain and report market trends and capacity constraints.
  • Build supplier partnerships and execute corrective action plans.
  • Demonstrate purchasing fundamentals, data analytics, and negotiation techniques.
  • Follow SEL values and World Class Manufacturing principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to purchasing policies and practices to ensure highest quality, appropriate inventory levels, timely delivery, and competitive cost from suppliers.
  • Execute strategic sourcing plans to support company objectives.
  • Identify risks to SEL's supply chain and report to management; including overall market trends, capacity constraints, commodity risks, and business conditions for manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Create and improve supplier partnerships by identifying areas for improvement, escalating issues to management and executing corrective action plans in accordance with World Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrate business professionalism, purchasing fundamentals, time management, data analytics, supply chain management, supplier development, cost reduction strategy development and negotiation techniques.
  • Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • A.A. degree in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically, 2 or more years of experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity working with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.A./B.S. degree in business, operations, or supply chain; or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Understanding of electronics technology, manufacturing methods and total quality process.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
