Daikin in Tijuana, Mexico is seeking a BOM Engineer to ensure accurate Bills of Materials across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with Design, Sustaining, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to maintain integrity of BOM structures and support manufacturing needs.

The role requires transforming designs into Flat BOMs, managing part numbers in SAP, and coordinating updates with multiple departments. Strong English and knowledge of SAP Business One and Smartsheet are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial, Electromechanical, Systems, Manufacturing or Mechanical.
• 2–4 years of experience in the engineering department.
• Experience with BOM management and product data management.
• Proficiency with SAP Business One and Smartsheet; advanced English.

Responsabilidades

• Develops Flat BOMs for assigned projects including major components, sheet metal, electrical and refrigeration components.
• Update and revise Flat BOMs based on input from Project Management, Warehouse, Production, and other departments.
• Implement Flat BOM updates driven by internal system changes.
• Collaborate with Engineering to translate product designs into accurate Flat BOM structures.
• Create and manage part numbers for job-specific components within SAP and proper classification.
• Verify accuracy of system-generated material calculations and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate creation of part numbers for components supplied to external parties and ensure integration.
• Review submittal documentation to ensure catalog data and component selections are accurate.

BOM Engineer is responsible for the creation, maintenance, accuracy, and integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the product lifecycle. This position works closely with Design Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management and Production to ensure that product structures accurately represent engineering requirements and support manufacturing and operational needs.

• Develops "Flat BOMs" for assigned projects including major components, sheet metal, electrical and refrigeration components previously included in the submittal document.
• Update and revise Flat BOMs based on input from Project Management, Warehouse, Production, Manufacturing, CNC Programming, and other involved departments, ensuring all changes are properly justified and documented.
• Implement Flat BOM updates driven by internal system changes
• Collaborate with Engineering to translate product designs into accurate Flat BOM structures
• Create and manage part numbers for job-specific components within the SAP system including proper classification.
• Verify accuracy of system-generated material calculations (e.g., sheet metal and structural steel from internal system) and report discrepancies through non-conformance processes.
• Coordinate creation of part numbers for components supplied to external parties (e.g., controls contractors or clients) and ensure proper integration into project Flat BOMs.
• Review submittal documentation to ensure catalog data and component selections are accurate and aligned with the Flat BOM.

1. Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electromechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, Mechanical, etc.).
