Job summary

Volcanix Automation seeks experienced Controls & Robotics Engineers with strong BIW background to support automotive projects across North America, primarily with GM and other OEMs. The role involves working on body shop systems, robotic welding cells, framing stations, and high-speed lines on-site in production environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of BIW experience in automotive environments.
• Experience with General Motors GCCS / GRS standards.
• Strong PLC programming and robot integration background.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Integrate industrial robots in BIW applications (spot welding, handling, sealing).
• Commission and debug body shop equipment and robotic cells.
• Support launches, cycle time improvements, and downtime reduction.
• Integrate robots with PLC-controlled systems and safety devices.
• Work with welding systems (spot welding, projection welding, stud welding).
• Perform system validation, buy-offs, and customer acceptance tests.
• On-site troubleshooting of electrical, controls, and robotic issues.
• Collaborate with controls, mechanical, and production teams.
