Job summary

VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is seeking experienced Controls & Robotics Engineers with BIW background to support automotive projects across North America, primarily with General Motors and other OEMs. This role involves working on on-site automotive body shop systems, including Robotic welding cells and high-speed lines, with readiness for travel.

Ideal candidates will program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), integrate BIW robots (Fanuc, KUKA), and perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation at

Qualifications

• 2+ years of BIW (Body-in-White) experience.
• Experience with General Motors GCCS/GRS standards.
• Willingness to travel 90–100% across North America.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Integrate industrial robots in BIW applications (Fanuc, KUKA).
• Commission and debug body shop equipment and robotic cells.
• Support launches, cycle-time improvements, and downtime reduction.
• Integrate robots with PLC-controlled systems and safety devices.
• Collaborate with controls, mechanical, and production teams.
