Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking biologists to author and grade life science scenarios used to test AI models. This is a fully remote, contract role with weekly Stripe payments and no fixed hours.

You will write experimental-design level reasoning, craft reference answers, and evaluate model outputs for mechanistic accuracy and evidence handling. Minimum 10 hours per week; rate $60–$120 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biology or closely related field or equivalent research experience.
• 2+ years of research, industry, or teaching experience in the life sciences.
• Depth in a biology area such as genetics, ecology, microbiology, or physiology.
• Clear written English for documenting scientific reasoning.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic biology scenarios from experimental design through interpretation.
• Write reference answers with the scientific reasoning behind each conclusion.
• Grade model output for mechanistic accuracy and evidence handling.
• Flag explanations that read fluent but get the biology wrong.
