Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking researchers to convert their biology research into evaluation tasks for AI models. The role welcomes Bachelor’s, Master’s/PhD students, postdocs, and recent graduates in biology or related fields.

You’ll create task-based challenges with a Python reference solution and tests, and participate in a review process. Tasks pay $200 per approved piece, roughly two hours of work, with no cap on how many tasks you can take.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's student or higher in biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Has written their own code, preferably Python, to build analysis pipelines or models of biological systems.
• Able to turn computational research into a well-specified task with a reference solution and tests.
• Able to work independently and manage time; flexible, task-based work with no fixed weekly schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design and author original research-grade evaluation tasks based on your own computational work.
• Specify metrics a strong solution should be judged by, without publishing exact passing thresholds.
• Revise tasks based on structured review feedback until approved.
• Optionally review and calibrate tasks submitted by other experts in your domain.
