Job summary

Chromalloy in Mexicali seeks a Quality Inspector focusing on plasma, blend, sandblast, chemical cleaning and thermal processes. You will audit, measure, and release parts between repair stages to ensure compliance with the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM).

Required is 1–2 years in aeronautical workshops or heavy metalworking, with strong metrology skills and NDT knowledge. Knowledge of GD&T and English repair manuals is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years as a process quality inspector in aeronautical workshops or heavy metalworking industry.
• Expert use of micrometers, vernier, roughness meters and thickness gauges by Eddy currents or ultrasound.
• Basic certification or knowledge in visual inspection (VT) and penetrating liquids (PT).
• Interpretation of geometric plans and GD&T, and repair manuals in English.
• Nadcap-like audit awareness for heat treatments, coatings and chemical processing.
• Able to stop a production line if a process parameter is out of tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Intermediate inspection: visually and dimensionally evaluate parts before, during, and after each process stage to authorize progress to the next station.
• Special process monitoring: audit machine parameters (furnace temps, sandblast pressure, plasma voltages, chemical baths).
• Thickness and roughness release: measure thickness after plasma and verify roughness post-sandblast.
• Blend control: inspect blended areas to ensure material removal stays within limits.
• Documentation and signatures: stamp work orders at each phase ensuring total traceability.
• Identify deviations and open corrective action reports (NCR) for non-conforming parts.
