Senior Backend Developer

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Backend Developer to join our team and help us build robust, scalable applications. This role involves full participation in the software development lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and delivering high-quality, well-tested backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the full application lifecycle, with a focus on backend development and debugging.
• Proactively identify potential software issues and propose / implement solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical implementations using defined tools and methodologies.
• Implement automated tests to validate new code against acceptance criteria.
• Ensure code is written to the highest industry standards, applying best practices in every step.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimization of backend systems.
• Design technical solutions, provide effort estimations, and define implementation plans for new and existing features.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
• Participate in all relevant product development meetings.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Follow through developed features to production deployment, monitoring behavior and resolving post-deployment issues.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on pull requests, helping improve both the product and the technical growth of the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a backend developer in production environments.
• Strong experience collaborating in team-based software development projects.
• Deep understanding of the complete web development lifecycle (design, development, deployment).
• Hands‑on experience with PHP 8.2+ and Laravel 11.
• Experience designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL).
• Experience writing automated tests using PHPUnit or similar tools.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript (basic understanding).
• Proficient in version control using Git.
• Familiarity with SOLID principles, design patterns, and general best practices (strongly preferred).
• Experience working within Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with CI / CD pipelines for deploying applications is a big plus.

Hiring Process

Candidates will be asked to complete a technical coding assessment to evaluate their real‑world problem‑solving skills.

The code will be reviewed for quality, structure, test coverage, and adherence to best practices.

You’ll also have a short technical interview to discuss your approach, experience, and engineering mindset. AI usage is not allowed for these tests, code will be reviewed.
