OPmobility Lighting is seeking an assembly equipment project manager in Monterrey. You will follow the design and realization of assembly equipment per customer specs, ensure adherence to costs, timing, quality, and HSE/ergonomics requirements, and hand over to the plant with training.

Based in Monterrey, you will collaborate with EPM/MPM teams, validate equipment in supplier workshops, and transfer to the plant with a structured readiness review, PFMEA involvement, and continuous improvement

Formación

  • Bachelor degree or master's in mechanical engineering; relevant assembly experience.
  • Knowledge in mechanics, automation, robotics, plastics, and lighting.
  • 2–3 years in assembly field in plant or automotive tier-1 supplier.
  • Lean manufacturing experience (layout, flows, manpower).
  • Good command of English.
  • Good understanding of HSE/ergonomics.

Responsabilidades

  • Follow design and realization of assembly equipment per customer specs and HSE requirements.
  • Handover equipment to plant with training for plant team.
  • Participate in technical knowledge improvement of assembly technologies and lessons learned.
  • OPTIMAP/OPTIPRO work packages focusing on ergonomics, cycle time, equipment OEE.
  • Ensure machines comply with local regulations and OPmobility standards.
  • Contribute to PFMEA workshops and ensure documentation.
  • Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in assembly processes.

Competences Requirements
  • Bachelor degree with experience or mechanical engineering master degree
  • Knowledge in mechanics, automation, robotics, plastic material, lighting etc.
  • 2‑3 years of experience in assembly field in plant or equipment supplier or other automotive tier‑1 supplier as assembly equipment project manager
  • Possible for young engineer graduate with former experience in assembly as trainee or intern
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing (lay‑out, flows, manpower)
  • Good command of English
  • Good understanding of HSE/ergonomics
Missions
  • Follows up design and realization of assembly equipment (serial or prototyping) according to customer requirements, project specifications (costs, timing, quality), assembly standards/best practices and HSE/ergonomics requirements
  • Ensures proper equipment hand‑over to the plant (performance convergence, training for plant team)
  • Participates in technical knowledge improvement of assembly technologies domain and in lessons learnt for projects under his/her responsibility
  • OPTIMAP/OPTIPRO work packages (ergonomics/HSE, cycle time, equipment OEE)
Activities
  • Follows HSE and ergonomics standards and rules
  • Participates in the conception of the assembly process and equipment with EPM (Not in Lighting function), MPM and associated extended team
  • Ensures design for manufacturing/TDR and takes part to the readiness reviews on Industrial Process topics. Secures its application
  • Participates in the creation and definition of PFMEA workshops and assures functional specifications includes all prevention controls identified in PFMEA workshop
  • Ensures that the technical choice matches expectations on safety, environment, cost, quality, efficiency, and timing
  • Ensures that machines comply with local regulation and OPmobility standards
  • Brings his/her knowledge to the project team (process parameters, risk assessment, validation plans…) and ensure escalation in case of deviation
  • Participates in the Lean Manufacturing Workshops (RFT)
  • Follows up the Design and the realization of assembly equipment including:
    • Realises functional specifications regarding project elements and divisional standard elements
    • Validates equipment study (Including supervision of FMEA), ergonomics study and the choice of possible solutions
    • Updates/adapts former feasibility study and technical choices if needed (Perimeter changes)
    • Validates equipment in supplier workshop, fine‑tune the equipment in the plant and ensure smooth transfer to plant team
    • Ensures the tuning of the equipment is properly done following instructions given by EPM/MPM, in order to converge to the product conformity
    • Validates necessary documentation for each equipment
    • Analyses result of actions plan, of validation plan and risk plans
    • Participates in capability validation for each equipment
    • Participates in lessons learnt activities, productivity projects… led in the assembly department

During those activities, the job holder has to apply or has to make applied integrated management system (Quality, Environment, and Safety). He/she is responsible of the destruction of its parts in the local rules respect.
