BIG Language Solutions is seeking an ASL Interpreter (VRI) to provide high-quality sign language interpretation via video remote interpreting. The role requires native or near-native ASL and English proficiency, and at least one year of professional ASL interpreting experience.

You will interpret across diverse industries, maintain confidentiality, and use multiple video conferencing platforms. Strong customer service, cultural competency, and calm professionalism during high-pressure situations

• Native or near-native fluency in ASL and English.
• Excellent receptive and expressive ASL interpreting skills.
• Strong verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret complex conversations across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Required Minimum one (1) year of professional American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting experience.
• Native or near-native fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Excellent receptive and expressive ASL interpreting skills.
• Strong verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex conversations across multiple industries and subject matters.
• Experience providing Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and demonstrated cultural competency.
• Ability to maintain neutrality, professionalism, and confidentiality in accordance with RID Code of Professional Ability to remain calm, impartial, and effective during high-pressure, emotional, or sensitive interactions.
• Strong customer service orientation and professional demeanor.
• Proficiency with computers and the ability to efficiently navigate multiple software applications and video conferencing platforms simultaneously.
• Must be VRI ready
• Must be available to support prescheduled calls during their working hours
