Placements24 seeks a highly creative Special Effects Makeup Artist to join remotely from your studio. You will design, sculpt, cast, and apply prosthetics for film, TV, and digital media, collaborating with directors and designers.

This project-based role requires expert knowledge of prosthetics and makeup materials, strong artistic talent, and exceptional remote communication skills to coordinate with on-site teams and deliver convincing, high-impact visuals.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Special Effects Makeup Artist with a strong FX portfolio.
• Extensive knowledge of prosthetics, sculpting, molding, casting and application techniques.
• Strong artistic talent with a solid understanding of anatomy, color theory, and texture.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex FX makeup, including prosthetics, creature effects, aging, and wounds.
• Sculpt, mold, and cast prosthetic pieces with realism and detail.
• Apply and blend prosthetics onto actors for natural integration with the skin.
• Paint and color prosthetics to match skin tones and textures.
• Utilize silicone, latex, and thermoplastics for diverse FX effects.
• Collaborate with directors, artists, and designers to achieve the desired look.
• Maintain a detailed portfolio of past work showcasing FX capabilities.
• Manage the creation and application process remotely via video calls and assets.
• Ensure durability and practicality of FX makeup for filming needs.
• Stay updated on advancements in FX makeup tech and materials.
