Key Responsibilities

• Designing and architecting end-to-end cloud-based solutions for aviation applications, considering scalability, security, and reliability.
• Leading the selection and implementation of appropriate cloud services and technologies (compute, storage, database, networking, AI/ML).
• Developing migration strategies for on-premises aviation systems to cloud environments.
• Ensuring solutions adhere to industry-specific compliance and security standards (e.g., aviation data privacy, ITAR if applicable).
• Collaborating with development teams to ensure solutions are implemented according to architectural designs.
• Providing technical leadership and guidance on cloud best practices and emerging technologies.
• Evaluating and recommending third-party cloud solutions and services relevant to aviation.
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive architectural documentation.
• Troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing timely resolutions.
• Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on cloud architecture and solutions design.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with data engineering, big data technologies, and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with the aviation industry's operational challenges and technological landscape is highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead projects in a remote environment.
