Job summary

Amazon is seeking Area Managers for Fulfillment Centers in Mexico. You will be responsible for budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our FC (Inbound, Outbound, Change Ops, Reverse Logistics).

Lead staffing, schedules, quality initiatives, and Lean/Six Sigma projects to meet the FC business plan. You will measure performance, drive improvements, and collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, S&LP, and IT to secure support and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Experience supporting hourly workforces of 50+ employees and leading teams
• Experience in English-language communication, written and verbal
• 3+ years of team leadership experience
• Preferred: 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
• Knowledge of Six Sigma tools, Lean techniques, PMP or similar standards preferred
• MBA, or Master's degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and FC to meet business plan
• Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Area Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments
• Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into improvement plans for the functional area
• Takes proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network
• Coordinates with HR, Financial, Facilities, S&LP, IT and other staff to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
• Addresses operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area
• Surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas with solutions to Sr. Ops/GM/HR

Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our Fulfillment Center (Inbound, Outbound, Change Ops, Reverse Logistics).

Key job responsibilities

• Drives creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable their Functional Area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed Business Plan.Sets / clarifies requirements and expectations for Area Managers.

• Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Area Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.

• Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.

• Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.

• Works closely with support staff (HR Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, S&LP Manager, and Other Sr. Ops. Managers, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in his/her area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.

• Able to address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area.

• Surface issues with potential to affect multiple functional areas, along with ideas for solutions, to Sr. Ops, General Manager and / or HR.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

• Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal

• 3+ years of team leadership experience
