Description

Our MXCF Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who want to join our team as an Area Manager at our new Inbound Cross Dock (IXD) - the first of its kind in Mexico. This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant milestone in Amazon's expansion in Latin America, featuring new processes and innovative cross-docking solutions.

In this role, you will lead a team of hourly workforce and will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining service level agreements and delivery expectations to ensure inventory is efficiently processed and distributed from vendors to our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) at the right time and in the right quantities, supporting the broader Amazon fulfillment network and ultimately enabling timely customer deliveries.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce.
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promise.
  • Collaborate with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives.
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud.
  • Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather.
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs. (applies to sites with stairs)

A day in the life

Your primary focus will be leading operations within our Storage and Distribution Center, ensuring smooth inventory flow to our network of Fulfillment Centers across Mexico.

A Typical Day Might Look Like This

  • Start your day by reviewing performance metrics from the previous shift.
  • Lead a team huddle to discuss goals, safety topics, and address any concerns.
  • Walk the floor to check critical inventory movements and storage optimization.
  • Coordinate with transportation teams on incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Partner with inventory control to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Coach and develop your team members through hands-on feedback.
  • Monitor real-time metrics and adjust staffing or processes as needed.

We're launching an exciting new operation in Mexico - our first Inbound Cross Dock (IXD) in the country! This represents a significant milestone in Amazon's growth in Latin America, and you'll be part of the founding team that will shape the future of our upstream operations in the region.

This team will play a crucial role in Amazon's supply chain network, managing the efficient flow of vendor and sellers shipments to multiple Fulfillment Centers across Mexico. We're focused on operational excellence, innovative solutions, and continuous improvement as we establish this key node in our logistics network that will streamline the receiving and distribution process of the inventory products.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • English Intermediate communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
