ALLDATA in Mexico is seeking a Director of Technology (Software Engineering) to lead software engineering efforts for nextgen products. You will manage 6–8 direct reports within a 50+ IT organization, drive roadmaps, and ensure delivery across full stack systems using Java/Javascript, Mongo, SOLR, and Oracle.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, collaboration with AutoZone HQ, and a focus on scalable, reliable software with SaaS and API capabilities.

Formación

• Bachelors in CS or related field; Masters preferred.
• 10+ years hands‑on software development in Java/Javascript.
• 5+ years as a manager leading multiple engineering teams.
• Experience with Mongo, SOLR, Oracle.
• Experience with SaaS and APIs architecture.

Position Summary

As Director of Technology (Software Engineering), you will be responsible for developing next generation software products, tools, and capabilities. A successful candidate will have a strong background in software engineering (development, quality assurance, data capture and transformation), software development methodologies, and project management. As a leader with excellent communication skills, you will be responsible for 6 – 8 direct reports and an overall organization of 50+ IT professionals.

Job Responsibilities

• Own and deliver your product roadmap
• Participate and improve software development processes and delivery, such as software design review, code review, code coverage, automation, performance, and monitoring
• Attract, retain, and motivate high performing engineering teams to continuously innovate, improve and think differently
• Setting and executing the short to long term vision for software engineering teams to support ALLDATA’s technology applications
• Leverage partnership with ALLDATA and AutoZone head quarter (HQ) in the USA and collaborate with IT/business partners to maximize achievement of business goals
• Cultivate an environment where all employees respect and adhere to ALLDATA values of putting customer first and striving for exceptional performance
• Effectively resolve technical or operational impediments impacting project/product delivery, systems performance/effectiveness, or general IT Operations and Infrastructure
• Participate as a member of the IT management team in functional activities such as planning, budgeting, special projects, and other initiatives

Skills And Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s degree preferred
• At least 10+ years of hands‑on Software Development experience in Java/Javascript technologies building full stack applications, with at least five years as a Manager leading multiple engineering teams. Experience with Mongo, SOLR, Oracle required
• You have demonstrated success building highly reliable, scalable, and maintainable software products. Specific Experience around SaaS and API’s Architecture desirable
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience influencing others, advocating for technical excellence while being open to change
• You are resilient, comfortable in ambiguous situations with the ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and can make decision quickly after considering competing viewpoints
