Impact Advisors Mexico seeks a Forward Deployed AI Engineer who blends software, cloud engineering, and data science to work directly with clients, owning strategy and implementation. You will build large-scale LLM and agentic workflows and deploy them securely within clients' organizations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design scalable data pipelines, optimize model performance, and ensure production readiness while staying current with AI advances.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 2+ years building and shipping LLM applications in production.
• 2+ years in client-facing technical roles.

• Design for Security: Assess and reduce attack surface of LLM apps with guardrails and monitoring.

• Lead and Learn: Stay current with ML/AI developments and participate in code reviews.

We are seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer with a blend of software engineering, cloud engineering, and data science expertise. You will work directly with our clients, owning strategy and implementation. Your day-to-day will include building large-scale LLM & agentic workflows and deploying them securely within our clients' organizations.

How You'll Make an Impact

Key Responsibilities

• Innovate and Deploy: Design and deploy advanced machine learning models to solve real-world problems, transforming research concepts into impactful AI-driven applications.
• Build Agentic Workflows: Architect LLM systems that connect to tools, data sources, and APIs -- leveraging open standards such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with careful attention to scoping, permissions, and reliability.
• Design for Security: Assess and reduce the attack surface of LLM applications; anticipate risks such as prompt injection, data exfiltration, excessive agency, and insecure output handling, and implement appropriate guardrails, sandboxing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand complex business challenges and deliver AI-powered solutions.
• Optimize and Scale: Implement scalable data pipelines, optimize model performance and accuracy, and ensure production readiness.
• Lead and Learn: Stay abreast of the latest developments in machine learning and AI; participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Impact: Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure continuous value delivery, directly influencing how AI benefits individuals, businesses, and society.

What You'll Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

• Advanced English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate directly with U.S.-based stakeholders.
• 2+ years building and shipping LLM applications in production.
• 2+ years in client-facing technical roles Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Platform Engineer.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Experience building LLM applications using modern patterns: tool use / function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), structured outputs, and multi-step agents.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred).

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience training or fine-tuning models (distillation, supervised fine-tuning, policy optimization), and the judgment to evaluate models built by Epic or third-party vendors on fitness, validation and drift.
• Working knowledge of deep learning and transformer architectures.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks).
