Job Description:

Job Overview

TE Connectivity is seeking a Manager II, Manufacturing & Process Development Engineering, to lead a multi-site Assembly Equipment Design/Build and Center of Excellence (CoE) organization within Advanced Manufacturing. This role is accountable for building competitive internal equipment capability, governing portfolio and resource priorities, scaling standards and reusable platforms, and driving CoE deployment of proven manufacturing technologies and best practices. The manager will lead a multi-site organization and work cross-functionally with regional and global teams, partnering closely with Operations, Launch, Product Engineering, Project and Program Management, Sourcing, Finance, Quality, EHS and other technical organizations to deliver measurable business value while maintaining clear functional ownership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a multi-site organization of managers, engineers and technical resources, including performance management, succession planning, capability development, engagement, and effective allocation of talent across priorities.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Assembly Design/Build organization, ensuring internal build capability is competitive in safety, quality, cost, timing, technical performance, risk and total business value.
  • Own portfolio, workload and capacity governance for the build shops; establish clear priorities, commitments, resource plans, risk visibility and escalation based on business value and available capacity.
  • Drive common engineering methods, design standards, modular platforms, reuse and lessons learned across build locations to improve time-to-market, cost effectiveness, quality, repeatability and scalability.
  • Lead the Assembly CoE operating model, including identification of high-value opportunities, validation of best practices and technologies, standardization, deployment, replication, training and sustained benefit realization across sites.
  • Establish and manage a disciplined performance-management system using meaningful KPIs for delivery, cost, productivity, quality, technical readiness, benefit realization, resource utilization and internal-customer value.
  • Partner with cross-functional and regional stakeholders to align requirements, business priorities, make/buy considerations, interfaces, handoffs and decision rights while preserving clear accountability between Advanced Manufacturing, Launch and Plant organizations.
  • Promote innovation and adoption of scalable automation, digital and AI-enabled manufacturing capabilities when they create measurable business value and can be deployed through standardized solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with TE safety, quality, engineering, financial and business-process requirements, and reinforce a culture of disciplined execution, early escalation, continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Represent the organization in regional and executive-level reviews, communicating strategy, portfolio status, performance, risks, capacity needs and improvement actions in a clear and business-oriented manner.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing, automation or capital-equipment environments, including demonstrated people-leadership responsibility. Multi-site leadership experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automated assembly equipment and the engineering lifecycle for capital equipment, including concept definition, design/build governance, integration, technical validation and formal acceptance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering portfolios, balancing capacity and priorities, managing risk, and driving performance through structured governance and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with Center of Excellence, standardization, technology deployment, platform reuse, continuous improvement or replication of best practices across multiple operations is preferred.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including the ability to evaluate cost, timing, capacity, investment trade-offs and total value when making technical and resource decisions.
  • Working knowledge of Lean / TEOA, Six Sigma, structured problem-solving and quality systems; strong commitment to Safety Always and Quality Everywhere.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, prioritization, coaching, change-management and conflict-resolution skills in a matrixed environment.
  • Fluent English with strong written, verbal and executive-presentation skills; ability to synthesize complex technical and business information into clear recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability and willingness to work across sites and functions, including periodic travel as required by the multi-site scope.
