Job summary

Placements24, Mexico-based, seeks a highly skilled Legal Advisor specialized in IP and Litigation to safeguard innovations, manage the IP portfolio, and lead complex disputes. This remote role offers flexibility with strong links to our Puebla base.

The candidate will handle IP prosecution, trademark registration, patent strategies, due diligence, licensing agreements, and liaise with external IP counsel while independently managing multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Law degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) and admission to the Mexican Bar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in intellectual property law, including prosecution and litigation.
• Experience managing patent and trademark portfolios.
• Strong understanding of Mexican and international IP laws and treaties.
• Experience in IP litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and settlements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and protect the company's IP assets including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
• Oversee prosecution of patent and trademark applications globally.
• Develop and implement IP strategy to support business objectives.
• Advise on IP-related agreements, licensing, and technology transfer.
• Represent the company in IP litigation matters and manage external IP counsel.
• Monitor IP landscape for infringement risks.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Provide counsel on data privacy and technology law as needed.
