Job summary

Grupo Truper is seeking a highly skilled Abogado Especialista en Litigios Remotos to join its forward-thinking legal team. This fully remote role centers on civil and commercial litigation, handling a diverse caseload from anywhere in Mexico while contributing to strategic advocacy and efficient case management.

The ideal candidate has a JD, Mexican bar admission, and at least seven years of experience, with a proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and to leverage technology

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar and in good standing in Mexico.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in civil and commercial litigation.
• Demonstrated success in handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and electronic discovery tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and client management capabilities.
• Familiarity with virtual court procedures and remote advocacy techniques.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• A stable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prosecute a docket of civil and commercial litigation cases from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, analyze complex factual scenarios, and develop comprehensive case strategies.
• Draft, file, and argue pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Represent clients in virtual hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
• Conduct and defend depositions remotely using appropriate technology.
• Communicate effectively and proactively with clients, providing regular updates and strategic advice.
• Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and other attorneys on case strategy and execution.
• Ensure compliance with all procedural rules and ethical obligations in all jurisdictions.
• Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities for clients, providing practical solutions.
• Stay abreast of relevant legal developments and case law impacting litigation practice.
• Utilize and manage electronic case management systems and litigation support software.
