Sequoia Connect is seeking an ABB Robot Programmer to design and optimize robotic workflows for welding, material handling, and assembly using RAPID language. You will build RobotStudio simulations to validate processes and support plant starts with hands-on debugging and commissioning.

You will collaborate with planning teams, integrating PLCs, vision, MES, and controls for smooth automation. A strong Lean mindset and multi-robot coordination are essential for driving throughput and reliability.

Formación

  • Bachelor level engineering degree required with robotics focus.
  • 5+ years in industrial robotics programming in automotive or similar environments.
  • Experience integrating PLCs, vision systems, MES, and controls with robot systems.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop, modify, and maintain ABB RAPID programs for welding, material handling, and assembly.
  • Create ABB RobotStudio simulations to validate robotic processes and analyze cycle times.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to define system requirements and support new programs.
  • Install, commission, and troubleshoot robotic systems during plant start-up and production launches.
  • Document programs, specs, and validation reports per client standards.

We are currently searching for a ABB Robot Programmer:

The Challenge (Responsibilities)
  • Develop, modify, and maintain ABB robot programs using the RAPID programming language for spot welding, arc welding, material handling, adhesive application, sealing, and assembly operations.
  • Develop and maintain ABB RobotStudio simulation models to validate robotic processes in a virtual manufacturing environment, conducting reach studies, collision detection, and cycle time analysis.
  • Collaborate with Factory Planning teams to define robotic system requirements, support production line layouts, and evaluate automation opportunities for new truck and cab programs.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and production launch of robotic systems, verifying programs and performing debugging/troubleshooting during plant startup.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for cycle time reduction and throughput enhancement using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Interface robots with PLC systems, Vision systems, Servo systems, Conveyors, and MES, coordinating seamlessly with controls engineers.
  • Create and maintain robot program documentation, process specifications, and validation reports in compliance with Our Client's engineering standards.
Your Profile (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial robotics programming.
  • Proven experience in automotive manufacturing environments, particularly supporting production launches and factory automation projects.
  • Strong technical proficiency in PLC integration, industrial networking, machine vision systems, robot calibration, and multi-robot synchronization.
  • High-Performance Mindset: Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.
  • Technologist DNA: A deep understanding of the difference between "coding" and "engineering."
Desired
  • Experience with truck, heavy vehicle, or automotive body shop automation, including robotic welding systems.
  • Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield factory projects and familiarity with virtual commissioning technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD and Digital Manufacturing tools such as Process Simulate or DELMIA.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing ABB RobotStudio and RAPID programming.
Languages
  • Advanced Oral English: For seamless collaboration with global teams.
  • Advanced Spanish.
