Job summary

V2X in Kuwait City seeks a VTC Technician to coordinate and operate video teleconferencing equipment for conferences, with an active Secret Clearance required.

The role includes setup, secure connectivity, maintenance, and coordination with Service Desk for issue resolution, with 24/7 coverage expectations.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Video Teleconferencing or AV productions.
• Must be able to work rotating 24/7 shift schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with customers to ensure equipment is operational.
• Sets-up and operates VTC equipment.
• Establishes end-to-end secure and non-secure connectivity to support conferences.
• Establishes proper cable connections and routing to audio/Video links.
• Adjusts sound and light levels for optimum performance.
• Troubleshoots VTC and connectivity problems with Service Desk to restore communication.
• Troubleshoots equipment; configures codecs and data timing.
• Resolves connectivity problems with technical personnel.
• Performs weekly maintenance on VTC equipment.
• Operates and maintains the VTC Bridge for technical support.

The VTC Technician conducts VTC conferences, operates VTC equipment such as VTC conferencing equipment, consoles, Digital Video Recorders (DVD), cameras, microphones, desktop and laptop computers supporting VTC events. The VTC Technician reports to the Site Manager as required.

Program: OMDAC-SWACA.

You must satisfy all host country requirements to legally work in the host country to include but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a host nation visa and host nation driver’s license in order to be qualified for this position.

Responsibilities

• * Coordinates with customers to endure equipment is operational.
• * Sets-up and operates VTC equipment.
• * Establishes end-to-end secure and non-secure connectivity to support conferences.
• * Establishes proper cable connection and routing to various Audio/Video and communication links.
• * Adjusts sound and light levels for optimum performance of equipment and comfort of customers.
• * Troubleshoots VTC and connectivity problems with local and distant end technical control facilities and Service Desk to restore communication and resolve poor reception/transmission issues.
• * Troubleshoot equipment; configures, modems and data timing and transfer rates.
• * Resolves connectivity problems with technical personnel.
• * Performs weekly maintenance on all associated VTC equipment.
• * Operates, administers, and maintains the VTC Bridge. Required to manipulate the bridge to provide technical support for all VTC circuits attached.
• * Performs other duties and assignments assigned.

Qualifications

• * Qualifications Security Clearance: + Requires an active Secret Clearance
• * Education/Certifications: + High School diploma or GED required.
• * Experience: One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree for three years general experience.
• + Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Video Teleconferencing or Audio Video Productions.
• + Must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24-hour day, 7-day week coverage.
• + Experience with a customer service-oriented company.
• * Skills & Technology Used*:
  • + Proficiency in using a computer - desktop or laptop.
  • + Proficiency in using Microsoft productivity software.
  • + Proficiency in using Email client software.
  • + Proficiency in operating & troubleshooting Codecs & Crestrons
• * Working Environment*
  The work environment will be 95% indoors and 5% outdoors.
  The outdoor work environment may exceed temperatures 100 degrees F. Candidate must be able to physically withstand extreme heat.
• * Physical Activities*
  Must be capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  Must be capable of wearing Perssonal Protective Equipment (helmet and plated vest). which can weigh 25 to 40 lbs, for extended periods of time.
