Overview

**This position will be physically located in Kuwait**

Under the supervision of the Lead Technical Inspector (Quality Assurance) perform initial, in-progress and final inspections on various pieces of military, commercial, and other forms of communication equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to US Government property. Assists Shops as needed with Troubleshooting processes. Uses proper TMDE in the daily operations phase. Test and Troubleshoot all forms of Communication Systems belonging to the customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial, in-progress, classification and final inspections
  • Operate and inspect communication equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot defects.
  • Use technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections.
  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
  • Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals.
  • Conducts Tests on Equipment that has been Serviced, Repaired and Overhauled to insure operating efficiency before returning to customer.
  • Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions to all of the work force in the Shop.
  • Ability to Inspect Check and Test all types of Communication System being Work Ordered to the Shop.
  • Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of six years continuous experience performing maintenance services and Communication Systems of Combat Tactical Vehicles and other communication related systems.
  • Skills:
    • Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Communication Equipment.
    • Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment.
    • Must be an expert in Corrective Actions performed by the Maintenance Teams and only ensure that his/her equipment is FMC when cleared by the shop.
    • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, Service and Repair Communication Systems work ordered by the customers.
    • Must have full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage.
    • Must be proficient in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesn't work correctly.
    • Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification and etc.
    • Must have expert knowledge of the maintenance prints so as to be able to establish workload priority.
    • Must have expert knowledge of Communication Test procedures and processes.
    • Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to working as a subject matter expert for that shop.
  • SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • None
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
    • Work is generally conducted in a shop environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
  • PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
    • Work may require lifting up to 50 lbs, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents.
