Job summary

Siemens AG in Kuwait seeks a Telecommunications specialist to lead installation and commissioning of telecom systems for substations. You will maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate telemetry installation while creating detailed design docs in AutoCAD.

You’ll join cross‑functional teams to ensure high‑quality project delivery and continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on experience with PDH/SDH, MPLS-TP, routing/switching, and strong documentation skills, with comfort

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in telecom technologies within power grids.
• Hands-on with PDH, SDH, MPLS-TP, routing and switching.
• Experience with MPLS-TP & NMS for Infinera/Huawei and Fortinet Firewalls.
• Strong technical documentation and site task translation.
• Ability to work in international or multi-cultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of communication systems per customer needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot telecommunication equipment at substations.
• Participate in call duty and regular troubleshooting operations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, protocols, and approval docs.
• Create and update design documentation via AutoCAD.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, cable plans and site layouts.
• Coordinate telemetry installation in new substations (panels, batteries, cabling).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth project delivery.
• Monitor and recommend improvements for telecom systems and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.

• Lead the installation and commissioning of communication systems tailored to customer requirements
• Ensure maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunication equipment at substations

• Knowledge of MPLS-TP & NMS for Infinera and Huawei, Digital Inter-trip equipment, Siemens L3/L2 equipment, and Fortinet Firewalls
• Strong technical documentation skills and ability to translate plans into actionable site tasks
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational abilities
• Experience working in international or multi-cultural teams
• Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
