Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a senior Instrumentation Engineer in Kuwait to oversee and execute field instrumentation activities during construction, including installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning. The role requires familiarity with Permit to Work systems, IFC drawings, and ITPs, and involves coordinating with subcontractors and QA/QC teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with Permit to Work (PTW) systems applicable to Oil & Gas operations.
  • Oversee and execute field instrumentation activities (Fire Alarm, Gas Detection, Fire Suppression, load shifting) during construction.
  • Verify compliance with IFC drawings, approved method statements, and ITPs.
  • Supervise wiring, cable pulling, termination, tubing installation, and panel wiring.
  • Coordinate daily work with subcontractors and submit progress reports.
  • Ensure safe installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation & control systems.
  • Ensure proper cable routing and segregation of signal, control, and power cables.
  • Witness functional testing, loop checking, and pre-commissioning with QA/QC and commissioning teams.
  • Assist in punch lists, tracking, and closeout of inspections and commissioning items.
  • Maintain red-line drawings and support as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and process teams for multidisciplinary execution.
  • Support system energization and loop testing with commissioning teams.
  • Liaise with client representatives to obtain approvals and provide progress updates.

Job Description
  • Familiar with and knowledgeable in Permit to Work (PTW) systems applicable to Oil & Gas operations.
  • Responsible for overseeing and executing all field instrumentation activities (Fire Alarm, Gas Detection, and Fire Suppression Systems and Load shifting), including installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning during the construction phase.
  • Verify that all activities are carried out in compliance with IFC drawings, approved method statements, and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Supervise instrumentation works such as cable pulling, cable termination, tubing installation, junction box installation, and panel wiring activities.
  • Coordinate and assign daily work activities to subcontractors and submit daily progress reports to the Engineer.
  • Ensure the safe installation, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems, including field devices, control panels, junction boxes, and cabling, in accordance with approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Ensure proper segregation and routing of signal, control, and power cables during installation.
  • Witness and support functional testing, loop checking, and pre-commissioning activities in coordination with QA/QC and commissioning teams.
  • Assist in the preparation, tracking, and closure of punch list items arising from inspections, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain red-line mark-up drawings and support the design team during as-built documentation, loop folders, and handover dossiers.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, and process disciplines to ensure smooth execution of multidisciplinary activities.
  • Work in collaboration with the commissioning team to plan and execute system energization and loop testing activities.
  • Ability to Supervise the load shifting of DCS, ESD.
  • Liaise with client representatives to facilitate inspections, obtain approvals, and provide progress updates.
