Digitus Group is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to own the reliability and safety of the electrical power infrastructure from utility intake to rack level. You will direct HV, MV and critical LV switching operations, manage safety programs, coordinate OEM services and drive energy optimization across the data center.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience in electrical operations and maintenance, preferably in data centers
The Data Center Electrical Engineer is responsible for the engineering-level ownership reliability safety and performance of the data center electrical power infrastructure from the utility intake through to the rack level The role manages electrical maintenance strategy switching procedures electrical safety programs vendor activities spare parts planning and system performance The Electrical Engineer also directs the electrical manning technicians authorizes and leads critical switching operations and acts as the electrical authority during incidents and escalations
Take engineering ownership of the data center electrical infrastructure including MV LV distribution systems HV MV switchgear GIS AIS transformers RMUs UPS systems STS ATS systems generators fuel systems batteries and protection systems Develop maintain and control electrical switching procedures Authorize lead and supervise HV MV and critical LV switching operations Manage the arc flash and electrical safety program for the data center Ensure full compliance with Lockout Tagout LOTO Permit to Work PTW and electrical isolation requirements Develop and manage the annual electrical Planned Preventive Maintenance PPM program in line with OEM recommendations Coordinate generator load-bank testing and generator readiness programs in accordance with NFPA 110 Prepare review and maintain electrical Standard Operating Procedures SOPs Methods of Procedure MOPs and Emergency Operating Procedures EOPs Review and approve the safe execution of electrical procedures and maintenance activities Coordinate electrical maintenance vendors and supervise OEM major services testing repairs and equipment overhauls Develop and maintain the spare-parts and critical-inventory plan for electrical systems Analyze electrical system performance protection settings load profiles power usage and equipment capacity Identify and implement opportunities for energy optimization and improved electrical system performance Lead root cause analysis for electrical faults failures alarms and service interruptions Develop and follow up corrective and preventive actions arising from electrical incidents Direct support develop and train the electrical manning technicians Support integrated systems testing testing and commissioning and electrical system readiness activities Support predictive maintenance programs including thermography transformer oil sampling and condition monitoring Act as the electrical technical authority during incidents emergencies and operational escalations Provide 24 7 on-call support and shift coverage assistance when required
