Job summary

Kimpton is seeking a Kitchen Leader to work with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to plan activities, promotions and menu implementations aligned with annual marketing plans. You will ensure action points from briefings are followed and comply with all licensing, health, fire and safety regulations.

You will assist in compiling annual marketing plans and budgets, oversee disciplinary procedures, manage food cost and kitchen supplies, and drive efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

• Plans activities, promotions and menu implementations with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
• Ensures action points from daily briefings or monthly operational meetings are followed.
• Complies with legislation affecting the operation, including licensing, health, fire and safety regulations.
• Assists in compiling annual marketing plans and budgets.
• Ensures disciplinary and grievance procedures are adhered to.
• Responsible for overall food cost as well as kitchen supplies and energy costs in the assigned section.
• Plans, coordinates and supervises menu implementations with recipes, photographs and staff training.
• Maintains constant focus on guests’ expectations and takes corrective actions as needed.
• Responsible for labour budget of the kitchen department.
