Job summary

Kimpton Kuwait seeks proactive stewarding staff to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in kitchen and public areas, supporting daily dish and equipment cleaning, stock control, and coordination with Guest Services to enhance the guest experience.

Role involves adherence to health and safety policies, training participation, and upholding cost-saving practices while maintaining service standards across all areas.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Hotel Rules and Regulations as per Employment Handbook
• Maintain grooming standards and exemplary department behaviour and appearance
• Follow Time and Attendance Policies
• Liaise with Kitchen Team to ensure accurate and clean equipment is ready for service
• Establish and maintain effective employee and inter-departmental working relationships
• Participate in hotel activities such as sports, staff parties, CSR events to promote hotel reputation
• Work with the team to enhance guest experience according to standards and policy
• Actively participate in all training activities
• Daily cleaning of all dishes and technical equipment
• Daily cleaning of kitchen floors, cupboards and machines
• Daily stock control for stewarding and kitchen cleaning supplies
• Daily waste disposal with proper waste separation
• Refilling cupboards with dishes and maintaining dish towel stock via housekeeping
• Daily cleaning of tile areas in kitchen and public areas (lobby/bar/offices)
• Weekly cleaning of delivery area, storage rooms, hotel surroundings and waste room
• Daily checking of all empties
• Cover staff and organize duties in cooperation with Guest Service Assistant Food & Beverage or Guest Service Assistant Restaurant
• Orientation for new trainees or staff covering duties
• Daily hovering of lobby and restaurant area
• Hovering banqueting rooms after functions or on request by Guest Service Manager Food & Beverage or Guest Service Assistant Restaurant
• Demonstrate a Service attitude and strive for guest satisfaction
• Recycle where possible and implement cost-saving measures
• Familiar with Health and Safety policies and ensure compliance across operational areas
• Rectify hazardous situations and report major concerns to General Manager or delegate
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire/emergency procedures and enforce these area-wide
• Review security incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence
• Abide by Company's Corporate Code of Conduct and company values
• Perform tasks as directed by the Guest Service Assistant to achieve business goals

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

• Daily control of required stock of cleaning supplies for stewarding department and kitchen
• Daily emptying the waste, responsible for waste separation according to environmentally standards
• Refilling cupboards with dishes
• Daily control of required dish towels and refilling stock through housekeeping department
• Daily cleaning of all tile areas in kitchen area as well as public areas like lobby or bar and offices
• Weekly cleaning of the delivery area, all storage rooms, hotel surroundings and waste room
• Daily checking all empties
• Responsibility for covering staff and organizing their duties in cooperation with the Guest Service Assistant Food & Beverage or the Guest Service Assistant Restaurant
• Orientation for new trainees or other staff covering duties
• Daily hovering lobby and restaurant area.
• Hovering banqueting rooms after functions or upon request through Guest Service Manager Food & Beverage or Guest Service Assistant Restaurant
• Demonstrating a 'Service' attitude
