Job summary

Alghanim Industries in Kuwait is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting and reporting across receivables, payables, GL, fixed assets, inventory and cash/banking.

The role requires a degree in Accounting or Commerce, at least 3 years' experience in accounting, strong English communication, proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, and a focus on internal controls and IFRS compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated in Accounting/Commerce.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Accountant or Senior Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly AR aging reports and generate customer statements.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of customer and GL accounts.
• Coordinate with departments for timely issue resolution and audit readiness.
• Assist in month-end/year-end closing, including journal entries and accruals.

Job Summary

The primary role of the Sr. Accountant is to support the functional activities in accounting and reporting. this will include receivables & payable accounting, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory, cash and banking accounting.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports to the Finance Manager and generate/distribute customer account statements on a regular basis.
• Prepare provision reports and management reports to support financial analysis and decision making.
• Calculate, prepare, and process commission payments for Sales Representatives and Brokers.
• Perform monthly reconciliations, including customer and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Resolve customer queries, coordinate with relevant departments for timely issue resolution, and review motor insurance claim files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company procedures.
• Support month end and year end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in line with accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and schedules, ensuring compliance with IFRS 17 accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations during audit reviews.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations where applicable.
• Maintain and update accounting records in Insurance Accounting systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across financial modules.

Candidate Requirements

• Must have graduated in Accounting/Commerce and display good relevant accounting knowledge.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Accountant or Senior Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Sound knowledge of accounting and internal controls.
• Analytical mind set with good problem solving and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in MS office with hands on knowledge on ERP systems.
• Strong team orientation.
• Strong communication skills in English, knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.
