Job summary

Egis in Kuwait seeks a Senior Utility Engineer to join the port and terminal facilities. You will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems supporting port operations, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring safety and operational excellence.

This role requires extensive experience in utility systems within port/terminal environments, hands-on leadership, and the ability to coordinate with vendors and internal teams for expansions and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in utility systems management, preferably in a port, terminal, or industrial facility environment
  • Proven expertise in electrical systems, water treatment, HVAC, and compressed air systems
  • Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial control systems
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design and documentation software
  • Experience in budget management and cost control
  • Proven leadership and team supervision skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Knowledge of port/terminal operations and infrastructure requirements
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to port facilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 certification
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of energy efficiency optimization and renewable energy systems
  • Preferred: Experience with vendor and contractor management

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel networks
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve utility system failures
  • Supervise utility technicians and provide guidance on maintenance procedures and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures
  • Prepare and manage utility system budgets, including capital expenditure planning and cost optimization initiatives
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency improvement measures
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment specifications
  • Respond to emergency situations and coordinate rapid resolution of critical utility failures
  • Collaborate with port operations and engineering teams to support facility expansion and infrastructure improvements
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for utility department staff

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Utility Engineer to join our operations team at our port and terminal facility in Kuwait. In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems that support our port operations. You will lead a team of technicians while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational excellence.
