Job summary

Egis Group in Kuwait is seeking a Senior Utility Engineer to lead the management, maintenance and optimization of all utility systems supporting port operations. You will head a team of technicians and ensure safety and compliance.

The role demands extensive experience in electrical, water treatment, HVAC and energy efficiency, with hands-on PLC/SCADA expertise. You will collaborate with operations and engineering teams on facility expansions and capital projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in utility systems management within port/terminal/industrial environments.
• Strong expertise in electrical, water treatment, HVAC, and compressed air systems.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA and industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel distribution.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules to maximize reliability.

We are seeking a Senior Utility Engineer to join our operations team at our port and terminal facility in Kuwait. In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all utility systems that support our port operations. You will lead a team of technicians while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational excellence. This is a key position for a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in utility systems management within a port or terminal environment.

• Manage and oversee all utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, and fuel distribution networks
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability
• Conduct technical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve utility system failures
• Supervise and mentor a team of utility technicians, providing guidance on maintenance procedures and safety protocols
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational procedures
• Prepare and manage utility system budgets, including capital expenditure planning and cost optimization initiatives
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, upgrades, and installations
• Monitor energy consumption and implement efficiency improvement measures
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and equipment specifications
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate rapid resolution of critical utility failures
• Collaborate with port operations and engineering teams to support facility expansion and infrastructure improvements
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for utility department staff

• Minimum 15 years of experience in utility systems management, preferably in a port, terminal, or industrial facility environment
• Proven expertise in electrical systems, water treatment, HVAC, and compressed air systems
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
• Demonstrated experience with PLC/SCADA systems and industrial control systems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design and documentation software
• Experience in budget management and cost control
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Knowledge of port/terminal operations and infrastructure requirements
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to port facilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Preferred: ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 certification
• Preferred: Advanced knowledge of energy efficiency optimization and renewable energy systems
• Preferred: Experience with vendor and contractor management
