Job summary

Capitex is seeking a consultant-level Fraud Data Analyst to lead analytics for a regional bank’s 24/7 digital fraud operation. The role starts with remote work from the UK for two months and moves onsite to Kuwait City from month 3 for the remainder of the term, with a passport and relocation readiness required.

Qualifications

• Consultant-level experience in fraud or financial crime data analytics, typically 5+ years, within banking, payments or fintech.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; both are essential and will be tested at screening.
• Proven track record of reducing losses, cutting false positives, and improving detection with measurable numbers.
• Experience building operational dashboards and management reporting (Power BI, Tableau or equivalent).
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, Fabric, Databricks or similar) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Query, extract and correlate data across multiple systems to identify fraud patterns and detection gaps.
• Translate analysis into action by proposing new detection rules with measurable impact.
• Design and build dashboards and reporting on rule performance and fraud losses for leadership.
• Contribute to the bank's data lake programme by designing the fraud analytics layer.
• Mentor and upskill bank analysts, facilitating knowledge transfer.
• Support post-incident reviews with data deep-dives alongside L1/L2 analysts and senior investigators.
