Job summary

Anton is seeking a Senior Consultant Geophysicist - Exploration Geophysics to lead basin-scale geophysical evaluations and integrated interpretations, guiding regional exploration strategy for resource assessment and prospect generation.

The role requires a PhD in Geophysics or related field, 20+ years in upstream oil & gas, and proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams. International experience and strong English communication are essential for senior management collaboration.

Qualifications

PhD in Geophysics, Geoscience, or closely related discipline.
Minimum 20 years of professional Upstream Oil & Gas experience.
Extensive basin analysis, regional exploration, seismic interpretation, and risk assessment experience.
Proven experience in seismic acquisition planning, survey design, QC, and project management.
Strong knowledge of gravity, magnetic, and magnetotelluric interpretation and modelling.
Experience with probabilistic resource estimation and exploration risk assessment.
Experience applying AI/ML, digital geoscience, and emerging technologies to exploration workflows.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of geophysicists, geologists, and engineers.
International experience with major E&P companies or research institutions.
Fluency in English; strong report-writing and presentation skills.
Publications in recognized geoscience journals preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead basin-scale geophysical evaluations using seismic, gravity, magnetic, and well data.
Regional seismic interpretation, horizon mapping, and cross-section construction.
Develop 2D/3D seismic and potential field models.
Evaluate exploration risks with geochemical, biostratigraphic, petrophysical, and geophysical data.
Prepare Play Chance Assessments and Petroleum System Models for management.
Rank exploration prospects using 3D seismic interpretation and AVAz techniques.
Perform probabilistic resource assessments following SPE-PRMS.
Lead structural interpretation, fault mapping, and seismic inversion studies.
Develop prospect portfolios with Geological Chance of Success and risk assessments.
Design and evaluate seismic acquisition programs; oversee projects and contracts.
Provide geophysical input to exploration well planning and drilling support.
Mentor geoscience professionals and lead multidisciplinary teams.
