Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician for Drilling & Completion Fluids to join our Well Construction team in Kuwait. The role focuses on lab testing, QA/QC procedures, and analytical work to support product design, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities include pilot testing, equipment calibration, permeability/core flow testing, and maintaining stock levels for smooth operations, with travel to offshore sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or petroleum/mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in drilling & completion fluids.
• Willingness to travel and work offshore.
• Thorough understanding of drilling and completion fluids product line and planning requirements.
• Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pilot testing on drilling and completion fluids for mud program recipes and field samples.
• QA/QC on materials per API specs and testing procedures; prepare CoA.
• Repair, maintain and calibrate onshore and rig-site testing equipment.
• Run permeability tests and core flow tests to select optimal mud cake formulations.
• Operate PPA/PPT and PSD analyses for RDF design.
• Monitor stock levels of lab consumables and spare parts.
