• Minimum 20 years of upstream oil & gas experience in sedimentology, stratigraphy and depositional systems.
• Proven track record in depositional systems characterization and sequence stratigraphy.
• Experience integrating core, cuttings, logs, seismic, and biostratigraphic data.
• Proficiency with industry-standard interpretation and modelling software such as Petrel.

About the role

Position Title: Senior Consultant - Geologist - Depositional Systems Specialist

Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed sedimentological, facies, and depositional systems analysis using core, cuttings, petrography, and well-log data.
• Develop depositional environment models for clastic and carbonate systems at field and basin scales.
• Apply sequence stratigraphy to define reservoir architecture, stratigraphic trapping mechanisms, and reservoir heterogeneity.
• Develop regional and field-scale stratigraphic correlations, chronostratigraphic frameworks, and facies distribution models.
• Integrate core, well-log, seismic, and other subsurface data to develop robust stratigraphic and depositional interpretations.
• Construct high-resolution stratigraphic cross-sections, correlation panels, and depositional frameworks to support exploration and reservoir characterization.
• Design, coordinate, and monitor laboratory studies related to sedimentology, petrography, biostratigraphy, and chemostratigraphy.
• Translate depositional and stratigraphic interpretations into 3D static geological models, with emphasis on facies distribution, connectivity, and reservoir heterogeneity.
• Integrate depositional systems and sequence stratigraphy concepts into digital geological modelling workflows to support subsurface evaluation and decision-making.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers on integrated subsurface studies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to geoscience professionals and support knowledge transfer within multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare technical reports, interpretations, geological models, and presentations for exploration and reservoir studies.
• Lead multidisciplinary technical activities and provide expert advice on complex sedimentological and stratigraphic challenges.

Qualification Requirements

• Master’s or PhD degree in Geoscience, preferably in Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, Petroleum Geology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of professional Upstream Oil & Gas experience, with substantial experience in sedimentology, stratigraphy, and depositional systems.
• Proven track record in depositional systems characterization and sequence stratigraphy within exploration and/or reservoir studies.
• Strong experience integrating core, cuttings, well logs, seismic, petrographic, and biostratigraphic data.
• Proven experience developing stratigraphic frameworks, facies models, reservoir architecture, and 3D static geological models.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geological interpretation and modelling software such as Petrel or equivalent platforms.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams comprising geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, and other subsurface specialists.
• International experience with major or independent E&P companies and/or research institutions is preferred.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to integrate depositional systems and sequence stratigraphy into digital 3D geological modelling and integrated subsurface workflows.
