Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Stock Custodian to manage postal stock, financial-service supplies, and accountable assets across multiple bases in the region. You will process transactions using USPS POS/RSS, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with DoD and USPS requirements.

This role requires U.S. citizenship and pre-employment readiness, with full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K plan. Travel and deployment requirements may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and documentation provided.
• 3+ years using USPS POS/RSS systems.
• 3+ years managing postal financial services.
• Experience managing postal stock and reconciling inventories.
• Knowledge of postal retail operations and accountability requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers, team and officials.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and email.
• Must meet installation access, medical, training and deployment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage, safeguard, issue, receive, and reconcile postal stock and related materials.
• Process transactions via USPS POS/RSS; maintain records and reports.
• Support postal financial services including remittances and money orders.
• Conduct regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliations.
• Maintain stock records, cash reports and transaction documents.
• Report discrepancies, shortages/overages, and security concerns.
• Ensure secure storage for stock, instruments, keys, and equipment.
• Coordinate stock orders and distribution to MPO operations.
• Assist MPO personnel in POS/RSS usage and procedures.
• Support customer counter operations and MPO activities as directed.
