Job summary

Alghanim Industries in Kuwait is seeking a Merchandiser to work closely with the Assistant Buyer to ensure the products purchased meet the sales plan. You will analyse past sales figures, coordinate promotions, and communicate with store teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with store managers and staff, answering questions and handling requests.
• Keep shelves tidy, display products attractively, and manage inventory levels.
• Submit call reports on competitor displays, pricing, and promotions.
• Monitor local promotions and report customer reactions to management.
• Provide management with updates on store openings/closures and territory growth.

Job Summary: To work closely with the Assistant Buyer or Buyer to ensure the products bought of the concerned brand meet the sales plan.

Job Responsibilities

• Analysing past sales figures/trends to anticipate future product needs
• Relaying the merchandise plan to the buyer or assistant buyer who, in turn, can decide on what products, styles, colours etc. to purchase and from which suppliers, at what price
• Determines call schedule by reviewing priorities with the buyer or assistant buyer; discussing special instructions, product promotions, new products, and price changes
• Maintains customer relationships by visiting with store managers, department managers, and employees; answering their questions; responding to special requests; describing product features
• Maintains store shelves by observing displays of company products; removing damaged or freshness-dated products; tidying store shelves; providing optimum display of products
• Maintains inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory; observing inventory levels; prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low; arranging for return and credit for damaged products
• Completes call report by observing display and pricing of competitors' products
• Checking daily on special promotions; observing customer reaction to special promotions; forwarding observations to management; removing promotions at end of special promotion period
• Provides information by reporting growth, expansion, or closing of supermarkets in assigned territory
• Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
