Job summary

V2X, a global provider of mission support solutions, seeks a Lead Technical Inspector in Kuwait to perform field and sustainment inspections for the LOGCAP V program. You will oversee QA/QC, guide subordinates, and verify repair and fabrication work to ensure compliance with Army standards.

Qualifications

Overview

**This position will be physically located in Kuwait**

Under the supervision of the Project Manager (PM), the Lead Technical Inspector (Quality Assurance) performs Field and Sustainment-Level Initial, In-Process, Verification, and Final Inspections of equipment and process outputs, in support of LOGCAP V Contract. As Lead technical Inspector, provide technical guidance and supervision to subordinates. Perform estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD), Actual Cost of Damage (ACOD), Estimated Costs of Fabrications (ECOF) and Estimated Cost of Repair (ECOR) inspections and verify condition codes. Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) functions. Understands all shop functional requirements and provides assistance and coverage whenever needed.

  • Perform initial, in-progress and final inspections on IAW applicable Army Regulations, Technical Manual & Industry Standards.
  • Reads blueprints, sketches and modification orders to plan the process and layout to be performed in an expeditious, economical and effective manner.
  • Input all deficiencies and shortcoming as well as parts needed in GCSS-Army
  • Conduct research for manuals and parts
  • Determines type and quantity of material, and orders material required to perform repair or fabrication IAW customer work request.
  • Assists in coaching subordinates in ensuring all current Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) and quality regulations are complied with.
  • Completes and reviews work order documentation to ensure for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for observing all current ES&H and fire regulations. Ensures a safe work area by ensuring employees are utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), warning devices, and proper vehicle/equipment placement.
  • Prepares necessary paperwork showing labor and supplies used for job order.
  • Uses proper Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase.
  • Interprets technical references.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Education/Certifications:
    • One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
    • Formal training (completion of MOS 91C, D, J or L course conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordinance School) is mandatory or meet verifiable civilian acquired skills criteria.
    • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required.
    • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Heavy Duty Driver’s License.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of (2) years of experience as a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technician; or a combination of formal training and experience totaling.
    • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience performing technical inspection of tactical military equipment is required with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in supervisory leadership.

    • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.

    • High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
    • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets reports and documents.
    • Expert knowledge in welding and repair requirements for military equipment/ferrous and nonferrous metals using oxyacetylene, electric arc, and inert gas welding equipment.
    • Expert knowledge of Field Level Maintenance Metal Worker tasks.
    • Ability to obtain a CAC and GCSS-Army access.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
    • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
    • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
