Job summary

Penspen in Kuwait is seeking an experienced Instrument Engineer to monitor requisitions, ensure compliance with design specs, and oversee construction and commissioning activities.

The candidate should have 5–10 years in Instrumentation & Control for Oil & Gas, DCS experience, and a PMC background; will liaise between client and contractor and provide on-the-job training to client counterparts.

Qualifications

• Around ten years of experience in Instrumentation & Control Engineering for major Oil & Gas/Petrochemical projects; DCS experience required.
• PMC experience at similar role for several years is preferable.
• Exposure to construction and commissioning phases beneficial but not mandatory.
• Computer literate with MS Word and Excel proficient.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and check Contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements to ensure optimized work processes.
• Witness and verify compliance with the design specification including oversight of construction and commissioning to ensure QHSE standards are maintained.
• Provide on the job training to client counterparts.
• Liaise between Client and Contractor reporting to the Resident Engineer.

The instrument Engineer shall monitor and check all Contractor requisitions, work packages, risk and method statements etc. to ensure optimized work processes. Witness and verify compliance with the design specification including oversight of construction and commissioning to ensure QHSE standards are maintained. In addition he shall provide on the job training to his client counterpart. The suitable candidate should have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant instrument experience within the Oil & Gas industry together with a minimum of 2-5 years' experience in the design and construction of onshore plants. The ideal candidate shall be familiar with industry standard codes and construction practises. Will perform liaison duties between Client and Contractor reporting to the Resident Engineer.
