Acciona-Sogex is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client for an experienced Head of Business Development & Research based in Muscat, Oman. The role oversees investment research, portfolio performance, and growth initiatives within a dynamic investment environment.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, develop strategic plans, and present investment recommendations to senior leadership. Excellent communication and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Admin, Economics or Investment Management (MBA a plus).
• Minimum 15 years' experience in investment management or related fields.
• Proven leadership in BD, investment research and portfolio management.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, and portfolio analysis skills.
• Excellent English; Arabic is a plus.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior investment professional to lead strategic business development, investment research, and portfolio management initiatives within a dynamic investment environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving investment strategies, overseeing portfolio performance, identifying growth opportunities, and leading a high-performing team. The role is based in Muscat and offers the opportunity to contribute to the long-term success of a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Development & Research function and provide strategic direction.

• Oversee investment research, financial modelling, and equity valuation activities.

• Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in investment management, corporate finance, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, asset management, or strategic investment.

• Proven experience leading business development, investment research, and portfolio management functions.

• Strong expertise in financial modelling, investment analysis, company valuation, and portfolio performance management.

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.

• Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Bloomberg or similar financial platforms is highly desirable.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
