Job summary

Fawaz Trading & Engineering Services Co in Kuwait seeks an experienced Firefighter II to support industrial firefighting operations. You will deploy, energize, and monitor systems, respond to emergencies, and work rotating shifts to protect personnel and assets.

Requirements include secondary education with IFSAC/PRO-BOARDS/JOIFF certs, 6+ years in a related trade, and the ability to operate pumps, aerial devices, and water supply equipment.

Qualifications

• Secondary School completion with IFSAC/PRO-BOARDS/JOIFF Certification (or Equivalent) Firefighter II.
• Minimum 6 years practical experience in a similar trade; oil & gas experience is a plus.
• Ability to operate heavy and light vehicles, appliances, trucks, and trailers to fires/standby locations.
• Must be physically and mentally fit; ready to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, energize, and monitor the system or equipment and recognize and correct system problems.
• Operate fire department communications equipment, relay information, and record information.
• Operate radio equipment and manage routine vs emergency traffic.
• Completely operate and maintain apparatus equipped with Fire Pump.
• Operate and maintain Aerial Device with position and mobility control.
• Operate Mobile Water Supply Apparatus.
• Be physically and mentally fit and ready to work rotating shifts.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Secondary School completion with IFSAC / PRO-BOARDS / JOIFF Certification (or Equivalent) Firefighter II (Advanced Exterior, Interior Structural).
• Minimum 6 years practical experience in a similar trade. Oil & Gas experience will be an added advantage.
• Able to operate all types of heavy and light vehicles, appliances, trucks, and trailers to fires/standby locations or any disaster area.
• Deploy, energize, and monitor the system or equipment and recognize and correct system problems.
• Able to operate fire department communications equipment, relay information, and record information.
• Able to operate radio equipment and discriminate between routine and emergency traffic.
• Able to completely operate and maintain apparatus equipped with Fire Pump as below:

Skills

a) Able to position a fire department pumper to operate at a fire hydrant and at a static water source, power transfer from vehicle engine to pump, draft, operate pumper pressure control systems, operate the volume/pressure transfer valve (multistage pumps only), operate auxiliary cooling systems, make the transition between internal and external water sources, and assemble hose lines, nozzles, and appliances.

b) Able to deploy portable water tanks as well as the equipment necessary to transfer water between and draft from them, make hydrant-to-pumper hose connections for forward and reverse lays, connect supply hose to a hydrant, and fully open and close the hydrant.

• Able to completely operate and maintain apparatus equipped with Aerial Device as below:

a) Determine a correct position for the apparatus, maneuver apparatus into that position, and avoid obstacles to operations.

b) Able to raise, rotate and position to a specific location, as well as lock, unlock, retract, lower, and bed the aerial device.

• Able to completely operate and maintain apparatus equipped with Mobile Water Supply Apparatus.
• Physically and mentally fit for the job.
• Ready to work in rotating shifts.
