Job Description Summary

Component design and development Engineering organization team from GE gas power Engineering division, India is seeking a field Test Engineer to support all the regional customer field tests based at GE Kuwait Technology Center. The primary responsibility of this role is to support field testing in ME region GE Vernova customer base to cover instrumentation scope and test data collection. Also conducting material analysis as per the lab test processes and protocols and generating reports.

Our regional team supports the operation and maintenance of Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators as well as their Controls, and Accessory systems. The Power Services Engineering team members are focal points for problem resolution for our customers.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for execution of regional field tests and laboratory test support.
• Responsible for executing field test at customer site by placing instrumentation, cable routing, data acquisition equipment interfacing, software operation and preparing traceable documentation to collect quality test data as per procedures.
• Be a point of contact for the test procedure development of field samples, as per the regional/business needs and update processes as per international procedures.
• Responsible for design and construction of lab test facilities, test rigs, instrumentation systems and operation of relevant test software.
• Upgrade knowledge as needed time to time and come up with ideas of simplification
• Perform periodic Calibrations and maintain the test equipment as per ISO procedures
• Report the test results and daily site activities promptly to associated stakeholders
• Work safely by adhering to all safety EHS guidelines and help in audits, maintain logs and close the open issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors in engineering degree specifically Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Material, Instrumentation or/and Aero space engineering or relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in field or/ and lab testing, handling instrumentation or / and testing procedures.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites in GCC & globally.
• Good presentation and communication skills in Arabic & English
• Experience on MS office

Desired Characteristics

• Master's degree in mechanical /Instrumentation engineering.
• Experience in handling laboratory analytical and data acquisition equipment
• Awareness or/ and use of AI tools.
• Eagerness to learn new technology, software tools & other relevant domains
• Awareness of different type of sensors, working principles, usage scenarios.
• Knowledge and/or experience in chemical safety and SDS procedures for different chemicals/processes. Handling of inert gases and safety procedures for regulated operations.
• Knowledge of lab quality certification and documentation
• Working knowledge of test software such as Labview or any coding language such as C/C++ or python.
• Knowledge of 5S & active AI engagement is a strong asset.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
