County of Ventura seeks a Senior City Librarian to supervise a large library region and oversee multiple branches, guiding reference, patron services, and facility maintenance. The role reports to the Librarian Manager and requires strong leadership across a busy library system.

The position is a regular full-time at the Ventura E.P. Foster Library in Ventura, CA, with evening/weekend hours and potential off-site meetings with community partners.

Qualifications

Masters in library science or equivalent.
Three years of professional experience in public service libraries (as per example).

Responsibilities

Manages a large library branch and oversees several smaller branches.
Sets goals, objectives and policy; collaborates with City Staff in planning and development of programs.
Supervises professional, technical and clerical staff; schedules, trains, and evaluates staff.
Interprets library policies to the public; makes presentations to officials and community groups.
Oversees maintenance and operations of library facilities; coordinates with vendors and staff.
