Job summary

Pasco County is seeking a Librarian I - Youth to deliver reference and readers advisory services, develop youth programming, and provide outreach across branches. The role involves assisting with inquiries, training staff, coordinating with schools, and supporting Summer Reading activities.

A MLS in progress or completed is required, with a preference for one year of library experience. Candidates should be able to lift up to 35 pounds, work in a team, and engage with diverse patrons.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or in last semester with degree within six months.
One year of library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide reference, readers advisory, programming, and outreach for youth and young adults.
Assist with in-person, telephone, and online inquiries and information requests.
Develop and implement library programming and outreach for children and teens.
Coordinate with schools and agencies for in-library tours and Summer Reading Program.
Supervise staff and volunteers in the branch in absence of the manager.
