Senior Commercial Manager

Leap29 are currently assisting a global Solar PV company that is hiring a Senior Commercial Manager in Italy. The successful candidate will manage the origination and commercialisation of offtake solutions for power and various other commodities across the company’s portfolio.

My client is actively involved in the full value chain of renewable energy projects, including development, financing, construction, operation, and energy management.

This position is fully remote within Italy.

1. Identify and secure potential customers for PPAs and energy services, including corporate and utility buyers.
2. Develop and negotiate offtake agreements for PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and hydrogen.
3. Lead tender processes and manage participation in third-party tenders, defining bidding strategies and commercial offers.
4. Analyse the Italian power market and regulatory landscape to support energy trading and offtake activities.
5. Create new marketing strategies, including hybrid solutions with battery storage.
6. Manage the full process of structuring, bidding, and finalising offtake contracts.

1. Degree in business, energy management, trading, hedging, or a related field.
2. 7+ years of experience in retail power sales to Italian industrial customers, with direct client interactions and a well-established network in the Italian energy sector.
3. Proven track record in energy trading and the negotiation of PPA contracts.
4. Strong analytical, strategic planning, and negotiation skills.
5. Business fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are a plus.
6. Willingness to frequently travel within Italy and across Europe.
