The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer's most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market (GTM) plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Within WWSO, this position is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for in-memory and caching architectures on AWS - Amazon ElastiCache and Valkey. This is a developer-facing role: your primary mission is to drive ElastiCache and Valkey adoption through the developer community, meeting builders where they are and making it effortless for them to adopt the right caching strategy. Modern applications - and increasingly agentic AI workloads, where low-latency caching is central to token optimization and cost control - depend on getting the data and caching layer right. You will help developers apply proven caching patterns (cache-aside, write-through, rate limiting, session and semantic caching, and more) and position in-memory data stores within the broader NoSQL, purpose-built database strategy that underpins production-scale AI.

You will work closely with the Database Services team, Business Development, and Sales to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive adoption and revenue for AWS. You will build with developers - writing sample code, reference implementations, and demos - and produce whitepapers, blogs, reference architectures, and conference talks that scale your impact across the developer community. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, helping other SAs understand when and how to integrate AWS caching services into customer architectures. As a trusted advisor with hands‑on technical depth in in-memory / NoSQL systems, you will share recommendations around performance, cost, reliability, security, and operational efficiency to accelerate how customers build data-intensive and AI-powered applications on AWS.

Key job responsibilities

• Drive ElastiCache and Valkey adoption across the developer community - through hands‑on content, sample code, workshops, hackathons, open‑source contributions, and developer events.
• Be the go‑to technical expert on caching strategy and in‑memory data patterns, helping developers and customers choose and implement the right approach for latency, scale, and cost - including caching for agentic AI and GenAI workloads.
• Accelerate the caching layer for agentic AI; help developers use ElastiCache/Valkey for agent token optimization, semantic caching, session/short‑term memory, and rate limiting, positioning in‑memory data stores as core infrastructure in the pilot‑to‑production journey for GenAI and agentic workloads.
• Represent the voice of the developer and customer; bring feedback to product teams to influence ElastiCache/Valkey feature development and the future roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain‑aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges.
• Act as a thought leader, sharing best practices through AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
• Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best‑in‑class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
• Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide.
• Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them integrate AWS caching services into customer architectures.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years design and implementation experience with NoSQL technologies and Key‑value stores such as ElastiCache, Aerospike, Redis, Memcached, including NoSQL data modeling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
• AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
• History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large‑scale customers or enterprises.
• Deep knowledge of and experience with Redis.
• Hands‑on experience with services related to databases highly desirable, particularly Amazon Aurora, Lambda, Amazon Elasticache, Amazon OpenSearch, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2 Container Service, Amazon Kinesis, etc.
