We are supporting a leading organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector in the recruitment of a WMS Implementation Consultant.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and continuous improvement of Warehouse Management System solutions, working closely with operational, IT and technical teams throughout the full implementation lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role covering requirements gathering, solution design, testing, implementation, go-live and post-implementation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end WMS implementations, ensuring the delivered solution remains aligned with initial business and operational requirements.
- Gather, analyse and refine business requirements for new functionality and process improvements.
- Define and maintain functional solution designs, requirements traceability and change requests.
- Act as a key link between warehouse operations, IT, development teams and other technical stakeholders.
- Lead and execute functional testing, integration testing and user/customer acceptance testing.
- Support WMS implementations through cutover, go-live and hypercare.
- Analyse proposed solutions, identifying functional gaps and recommending appropriate improvements.
- Investigate system issues and defects, supporting root cause analysis and resolution.
- Work closely with operational teams and process owners to understand warehouse processes and translate requirements into system solutions.
- Support operational teams with process discussions, system understanding and adoption.
- Monitor implementation progress against agreed milestones and KPIs.
- Coordinate priorities, decisions and activities across multiple stakeholders.
- Produce clear documentation and communicate project progress, risks and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in WMS implementation, software delivery or supply chain technology.
- Proven experience within logistics, warehousing or supply chain environments.
- Hands-on experience working with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Blue Yonder WMS experience would be advantageous.
- Experience across the WMS implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, cutover, go-live and post-go-live support.
- Strong understanding of warehouse processes and the interaction between operational requirements and WMS functionality.
- Experience analysing system issues and supporting problem resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- SQL knowledge is required.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and/or Xray would be advantageous.
- Ability to analyse large volumes of data from multiple sources and communicate findings clearly.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities effectively within a fast-moving project environment.
- Comfortable working across different functions, teams and geographies.
- Fluent Italian and English are required. Additional European languages, particularly French, would be advantageous.
Education
A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous.
