JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Weight Control Engineer, reporting directly to the Modular Design Section Head to join our Engineering Department team based in Rome, Italy.

About the opportunity:

You will work within the Modular Design Section, responsible for managing proposals, basic engineering design, up to detailed engineering design of modularized onshore projects.

Key interactions for the Weight Control Engineer include internal collaboration with project teams, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines; externally, with clients, yard fabricators, and transport contractors.

The engineer shall ensure that module weights and the weight management philosophy meet project and client requirements, as well as international codes, company specifications, and industry standards and regulations.

The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Prediction of module weight and center of gravity (CoG) during the preliminary design phase.
  2. Preparation of weight control procedures.
  3. Preparation of weight control reports regularly.
  4. Interface with project management and discipline leaders to collect weight and CoG data.
  5. Review of data from engineering disciplines for consistency with plant layout.
  6. Evaluation of weight deviations or CoG variations and their effects, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  7. Monitoring weight implications due to design changes.
