A leading global engineering and technology company seeks a Weight Control Engineer in Rome to manage proposals and engineering design for modularized projects. This role requires a Master's degree in engineering, proven problem-solving and teamwork skills, and fluency in both Italian and English. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector and a strong attention to detail.

If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, this could be the right job for you. We are currently seeking a Weight Control Engineer, reporting directly to the Modular Design Section Head, to join our engineering team based in Rome.

You will work within the Modular Design Section, responsible for managing proposals, basic engineering design, and detailed engineering design of modularized onshore projects.

Key interactions for the Weight Control Engineer include internal collaboration with project teams, procurement, construction, and other engineering disciplines, as well as external engagement with clients, yard fabricators, and transport contractors.

The Weight Control Engineer shall ensure that weight management and philosophy meet project and client requirements, as well as international codes, company specifications, industry standards, and regulations.

The role and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparation of Weight Control Procedures;
  2. Preparation of regular Weight Control Reports;
  3. Interfacing with project management and discipline leaders to collect weight data and center of gravity locations;
  4. Reviewing data from all engineering disciplines for overall consistency with plant layout;
  5. Reviewing and evaluating weight deviations or center of gravity variations and their effects, implementing corrective actions when necessary;
  6. Identifying and monitoring weight implications due to design changes.

About You

  • Master's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Naval Engineering;
  • Fluent in Italian and English;
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel;
  • Problem-solving attitude;
  • Ability to create tools for data management automation;
  • Teamwork skills in an international, multicultural environment;
  • Growth mindset and continuous improvement approach;
  • Good presentation and communication skills at all organizational levels;
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time with high quality and precision;
  • Availability for international mobility, short or long-term;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector.

IT Skills include:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel);
  • AutoCAD;
  • Microstation;
  • Navisworks.
