Job Description for Weight Control Engineer

Position Overview:

Within the Energy Carriers Business Line, the System & Data Engineering Management department seeks a Weight Control Engineer to support large-scale EPC projects. The role involves ensuring weight management aligns with project and client requirements, international codes, company standards, and industry regulations.

The engineer will interface with all project disciplines to accurately estimate weights of bulks & equipment, maintain weight databases (MON), and ensure data integrity across live and past projects.

Technical Skills and Responsibilities:

• Execute activities within own responsibility, ensuring QA/QC and HSE compliance.
• Prepare and issue Weight Control Procedures.
• Plan, prepare, and issue regular weight reports.
• Set up, operate, and maintain weight control software.
• Interface with Project Team to collect data on weights of elements.
• Review and analyze data for consistency and accuracy.
• Propose corrective actions to improve data communication and accuracy.
• Evaluate weight deviations and their impact, suggesting corrective measures.
• Monitor weight implications of design changes.
• Back-up input data for traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical disciplines.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Permanent employment contract.
• Extensive experience in weight control, ideally over 5 years on offshore steel structures such as jackets, topsides, floating, or subsea structures.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MON (weight databases), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microstation, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks.
