Job Description

Job Title : Veterinary Leader for Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program

Location : Rome - Florence - Milan - Perugia

Deadline : 8 April 2023

We're in search of 4 Veterinary Tutors (one for each program location) who are highly qualified and passionate about leading our two-week-long field training programs for American students throughout the summer. The students are primarily undergraduate aspiring veterinarians from the United States, selected for the Doctors in Italy Fellowship Program.

The training covers various topics and areas of veterinary medicine and is heavily based on experiential learning in the field. Students spend 40 hours at some of the best animal rescues and sanctuaries in Italy.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in veterinary practice and education, along with advanced English language skills. Additionally, international experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise field training activities for students, providing a high-quality educational experience
  • Offer support and guidance to students throughout the program
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and enhance the curriculum
  • Assess and give feedback on student performance
  • Manage the logistics of field training activities
  • Coordinate experiential training events with program partners such as animal sanctuaries, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and veterinary clinics

Requirements

  • Must have a degree in Veterinary Medicine
  • At least 3 years of experience in veterinary practice
  • Experience in training students or colleagues
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Advanced proficiency in spoken Italian
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Capable of traveling and working within one of the following cities for 2 months : Rome, Milan, Florence, Perugia

Preferred Qualifications

  • International experience in veterinary medicine or training
  • Experience working with animal sanctuaries
  • Adherence to a "One Health" approach within the veterinary profession
